The Baker Behind the Skull

At Your Own Whisk is Maddy, a Grand Island baker who launched this in 2023 with a clear idea: cookies and cakes made for the moment, not pulled off a shelf. Everything is custom, everything is made to order, and every design gets her full attention from first sketch to final brushstroke.

Her cutout cookies look more like miniature works of art than something you're supposed to eat — gold and silver paint, hand-drawn characters, eight design choices per dozen at the top tier. She's been on WIVB's Daytime Buffalo, where she made a custom cookie live on air for host Chelsea Lovell. She runs cookie decorating events with Leaf, Stone & Steel on Grand Island Boulevard.
